The Quality of Personnel Working with Children under Protection Increases


Trainer Training for Care Personnel by the Directorate General of Child Services has ended. The training, which has been carried out with the participation of 380 personnel working as directors and professional staff in childcare institutions in 81 provinces, has lasted three days.

Practices on Cases

Professional staff and management personnel working in childcare institutions in the provinces have showed great interest in training, in which the subjects in the Training Guide for Care Personnel have been used as a source. In training, various topics have been discussed, from ethical principles on children's rights and working with children, to the legal duties and responsibilities of care personnel and child protection and care competencies that care personnel should have.

In the training, where the trainers have conducted case analyzes based on the examples experienced in the Child Homes and Child Homes Buildings Complex, the participants have been informed about the needs of the children according to their age and development status and to support the care personnel on this issue.

Additionally, effective communication with children, approach to behavioral problems, supporting life skills and healthy life components, measures to be taken in case of disasters and emergencies at home and all kinds of accidents and first aid issues have been discussed in the training.

The three-day training consisting of the topics in the guide has taken place in 8 sessions. The training has been attended by 380 personnel as professional staff and directors in 111 Directorates of Child Homes Buildings Complex and 79 Directorates of Child Homes Coordination Center.

It is aimed to strengthen the institutional capacity of the care personnel, who provide one-on-one service to children in child homes and child homes buildings complex, in working with children, with the trainings planned to be held regularly.
