Ministry Offers Job and Vocational Counseling Service to 7 thousand 400 Young People Under Protection


The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services has implemented the Vocational Counseling Training project to support the career planning of young people between the ages of 13-18 who are under protection.

In cooperation with the Directorate General for Child Services and İŞKUR, Job and Vocational Counseling Trainings for young people in the 13-15 and 16-18 age group under protection started at Child Support Centers (ÇODEM), Children's House Coordination Center (ÇEKOM), Children's Houses Site (ÇES).

Young people are matched with Job and Vocational Counselors working in İŞKUR Provincial Directorates, and these organizations are supported on-site periodically. It is ensured that young people are guided to a course appropriate for their interests and abilities and that they benefit from counseling services.

More than 1500 Young People were Trained in 40 Provinces

Within the scope of the project, more than 1500 young people have been trained in 40 provinces since July. Until the end of the year, it is planned to provide consultancy services to 7 thousand 440 young people between the ages of 13-18 in provinces where ÇODEM and ÇES are located, with a total of 96 business and vocational consultants.

Professional interests, abilities and skills of children will be supported and developed.

The project, in which the professional interests, abilities and skills of children under protection will be supported and developed, aims to improve the professional skills of those who do not continue formal education for various reasons, to make their career planning effectively, and to open vocational courses for their interests and skills. The results obtained from the project will be monitored closely with technical infrastructure studies. Through the project, every child under state protection will have a 'job and vocational counselor'.

Which contents are included in the training?

Trainings are provided on The Importance of Vocational Choosing and Career Determination for Young People, Developing Job Search Skills, Expectations of Employers, Preparing CVs, Interview Techniques, Benefiting from On-the-Job Training Program within the scope of Active Labor Force Programs, Benefiting from vocational training courses organized for Groups that require Special Policy, Work Life and Job Adaptation, Vocational Orientation Test Battery for young people.
