Educational Training For Professional Staff In Foster Care Units In 81 Provinces

The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services continues foster care training, which is one of the important components of foster care service. The ministry provides “educational training” to professional staff working in the foster care unit in 81 provinces in order to effectively provide training for foster families within the scope of the service throughout Turkey.

The Ministry prepared two training packages within the scope of foster family service. Foster Care First Level Training includes the basic training provided for raising a child in need of protection with a family other than his/her own family. Foster Care Second Level Training, on the other hand, is given to people who have received foster care basic training in order to provide services to children with special difficulties and needs.

Foster Care First Level Training Module includes 4 new modules named 'Adolescence', 'Children with Special Needs', 'Healthy Transitions' and 'Strengthening and Coping with Stress'. Pilot trainings are given by academicians who are involved in the preparation of new modules.

The trainings for foster families will continue until 12 November 2020.
