Derya Yanık, the Minister of Family and Social Services, has stated that the monthly Social and Economic Support (SED) payments for the children of families in need have started and will be completed by the 15th of the month.
Derya Yanık has stated that the Ministry of Family and Social Services provides SED services for the children of families in need in order to protect family integrity and ensure that children do not fall behind in education and social opportunities.
Yanık has remarked:
“As the Ministry, we offer many services to protect and support our children. We always emphasize the importance of family integrity for the healthy development of our children. In this direction, we provide support to prevent our children from being separated from their families for economic reasons. Social and Economic Support (SED) service is one of them. With SED, families in need cover their children's education and other expenses. SED is regularly deposited into families' accounts each month. We will pay 172 million TL as Social and Economic Support for our children this month.
We also organize activities for our children supported by SED to benefit from social and cultural opportunities. Thus, we ensure that the children of families in need do not fall behind in economic and social opportunities like their peers.”
Yanık has stated that with 172 million TL to be paid this month, approximately 1.8 billion TL SED payment has been made for the children of families in need since January 1, 2021.
Expressing that 138.000 children still benefit from the SED service of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, Derya Yanık has said, “A total of 651.000 children have benefited from our Social and Economic Support service in 18 years.”
