Within the scope of the 101st anniversary of the liberation of Kahramanmaraş, the symbol city of the struggle for indepence and future, the children staying in the children’s shelter affiliated with Kahramanmaraş Provincial Directorate of Family, Labour and Social Services came together with Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services.

Within the scope of the Project “Independence Inspires” conducted by Kahramanmaraş Provincial Directorate in order to strengthen national and moral values of children and to develop a sense of history, the children staying in children’s shelters, made hand-knit baby dolls representing folk heroes.

Having prepared their hand-knit baby dolls of the symbols of liberation such as Senem and Ayşe; the Medal of Independence in the art of philography and letters depicting the War of Independence to be sent to 80 provincial directorates, the first visit of the children was to office of Minister SELÇUK.

16 years old Sude Naz SEVERDIM and 15 years old Emirhan BUNDUK, who stay in Kahramanmaraş children’s shelters and sites, visited Minister SELÇUK with their folk costumes.

Having a talk with the children for a while, Minister SELÇUK said that she was pleased to hear that the children implemented such a project and said that she liked their gifts very much.

Minister SELÇUK said ‘‘The most beautiful connection with history is to remember..

It is our most divine aim to hand down the struggle of our forefathers to the next generations.

I was very happy that you came with ‘Hero Babies’ in the 101st anniversary of the liberation of Kahramanmaraş from the enemy occupation.

Together with a letter addressed to Minister SELÇUK, the children presented their gifts of hand-knit baby dolls and Medal of Independence made with philography.
