The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services has launched a workshop on "ACCESSIBILITY WORKSHOPS: Sidewalks" for Municipalities in order to increase the compliance of cities with accessibility standards.
Accessibility Workshops are being created by the Department of Accessibility of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services to help municipalities shaping the structured environment in cities carefully implement accessibility technical requirements that are given to them as obligations by legislation. In these workshops, it is aimed that the ministry and municipalities work together to find solutions to the problems in the field and to shape new projects.
Especially metropolitan municipalities; The online workshops will end on May 31, 2021.
In the planned accessibility workshops based on the province, information is given about the features and standards of the accessible pavement for technical personnel from the relevant units of the municipalities. In addition, sample projects are evaluated together. The aim of the workshops is to enable municipalities that will build or renovate new sidewalks to implement accessible sidewalks in the tender, projecting, construction and inspection processes.
At least 3 technical personnel working in pavement construction and repair works are planned in the metropolitan and metropolitan municipalities serving within the scope of the workshop calendar.
