“Workshop for Developing Home Care Sector” Held Online on 21 September 2021 with Broad Participation Along with our Stakeholders


“Workshop for Developing Home Care Sector” held online on 21 September 2021 with broad participation of our General Directorate, our stakeholders, academicians, representatives of the sector.

“Workshop for Developing Home Care Sector” organized by General Directorate of Service for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly Department of Home Care and Day Care Services started with the opening speech of General Director of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly Spc. Dr. Orhan KOÇ.

Spc. Dr. Orhan KOÇ, during his opening speech, thanked fidelity support team and everybody who provided devoted service by stating that need for social service at home increased especially during pandemic and this need is met by our Ministry and Fidelity Social Support Teams.

  As Protective and Preventive Services Home Care, Home Care Support, and Day Care Services are Highly Important

Spc. Dr. Orhan KOÇ stated that in our country there is a powerful health substructure, by means of health care system before, during and after gestation disability rate has decreased. He expressed that home care, home care support and day care services as protective and preventive services are highly important by mentioning the need for home care services increases in parallel with life expectancy.

Spc. Dr. Orhan KOÇ, who stated that home care support programs started during mayorship period of our President are implemented quite well, drew attention to the fact that works to develop home health care and social services while being integrated. He stated that works for increasing the quality of living of persons with disabilities without being separated from their social circle are concentrated on by supporting home care services within the context of family-based social service model.

The moderator of the first session of the workshop, which was organized in two sessions, was Abdullah YILDIZ, Head of Home Care and Day Care Services Department. Expert Ali GÜNGÖR from Home Care and Day Care Service Department made a representation on “Home Care Services Provided by Ministry of Family and Social Services”, Spc. Dr. Nurgül Bağcı from Ministry of Health General Directorate of State Hospitals made a representation on “Home Care Services Provided by Ministry of Health, Asst. Prof. Ergün HASGÜL from University of Health Sciences made a representation on “Development of Home Care Services in our Country and the Current Status”, Faculty Member Dr. Çiğdem DEMİR ÇELEBİ from İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University made a representation on “Mental Health in Home Care Services”, Health Expert from Ministry of Health General Directorate of Health Care Service made a representation on “Start of Private Separate Home Care Units and Operation”.

The moderator of the second session of “Workshop for Developing Home Care Sector” was Expert Social Worker Sultan SAKINCI KARAKUŞ. During the second session General Director of Medicana International Ankara Hospital Faculty Member Dr. Gülçin TÜRKMEN SARIYILDIZ made a representation on “Home Health Care/Care Services Provided by Private Hospitals”, President of Home Health Care and Social Services Association Hulusi Armağan YILDIRIM made a representation on “Home Health Care/Care Services at the Nongovernmental Organizations”, Head of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Health and Social Services Department Dr. Ebubekir ARDIÇ made a representation on “Home Health Care/Care Services from Municipalities”, Dr. Nilüfer GÜÇTÜMÜR USTAEL from Private MediCare Home Care Centre made a representation on “Evaluation of Home Health Care Services by Private Sector”, Head of Kahramanmaraş Municipality Health and Social Services Department Ayşe TAŞKIRAN made a representation on “Usage of Technology in Home Care and Health Services”, Dr. İnci YANIKOĞLU from Social Security Institution Directorate General of Universal Health Insurance made a representation on “Repayment Systems in Home Care”.

At the workshop to which academicians, representatives of sector, General Director of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly, Deputy General Directors, heads of departments, and experts, approximately 900 people, attended comprehensive information was shared. “Workshop for Developing Home Care Sector” ended with general evaluation of participants on the workshop.
