Turkey Is the Leading Country in 2020 in The Quality of Disabled and Elderly Care


All public and private organizations providing care and rehabilitation services to disabled, elderly and care-free individuals will be subjected to regular on-site quality evaluation by the General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services by 2020.

Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK signed and enacted the "Directive on the Development and Evaluation of Quality in Disabled and Elderly Care Services" and all organizations will be subject to quality assessment and each organization will be scored in terms of quality.

Criteria for evaluating the quality of care services were created in our country. "Quality Standards in Care Services" prepared by the General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services by academicians, field specialists and field workers with the participation and support of international developments are a first in this field; quality service is of great importance in terms of the assurance of the delivery.

Quality Standards Will Be Decisive for Care Organizations

These standards are; It covers official and private day-life centers, maintenance centers, nursing and rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, nursing home aged care and rehabilitation centers, and additional units connected to these organizations, additional units and home care support services that provide care and rehabilitation services to disabled, elderly and care-in-need individuals of all ages. A total of 1,028 care providers are available within the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services as of December 2019.

Contribution to Care Tourism

These standards also have important topics internationally by the World Health Organization. In addition, this study, which is also accepted internationally, is expected to contribute to "Disabled and elderly Care Tourism" in the coming period.
