Strategy Designed on the Basis of Active Aging was discussed at the General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services Meeting with Malatya Turgut Özal University


Rector of Malatya Turgut Özal University Visited Dr. Orhan Koç, General Manager of Disability and Elderly Services

Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Aysun BAY KARABULUT visited Dr. Orhan KOÇ, General Manager of Disability and Elderly Services, at the Willows campus of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.

At the meeting, where it was emphasized that a demographic transformation similar to the aging trend in the world was experienced in Turkey, various home care and day care models adopted and implemented in societies that have already started to age from our country were discussed. The strategy, designed on the basis of the concept of active aging, was examined within the framework of the determined policy and the projected vision, transitioning from boarding, institutional elderly care to community-supported, home and day care priority elderly care was examined.

Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Aysun BAY KARABULUT, various models that can be applied regarding old age in active living centers in our country, the sustainability of these models, the importance of coordination with stakeholders such as universities and non-governmental organizations, and stated that they want to work in cooperation with the General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services as Malatya Turgut Özal University.

 

Dr. Orhan KOÇ, General Manager of Disability and Elderly Services, stated that they are open to all kinds of cooperation with Malatya Turgut Özal University, which develops projects for the change that is currently desired to be experienced and is ready to work in support of the conceptual framework of active aging, and aims to make a useful and sustainable contribution to the field of old age as a result of this cooperation.

Elderly Care Services Department Head Coşgun GÜRBOGA and Deputy MofFSS Expert Rumeysa CEYLAN were also present at the meeting.
