Our National Report within the scope of the 4th Cycle Review and Appraisal of MIPAA/RIS is Completed

The Madrid International Ageing Action Plan (MIPAA) adopted by the Second World Assembly on Ageing held in Madrid in 2002, transforming the ageing populations into an opportunity area for countries at the macro level, adapting the existing systems to the demographic ageing process, and improving the quality of life of the elderly people in general at the micro level, draws a global, normative framework. The decisions taken within the scope of MIPAA by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Ministerial Conference on Ageing, held in Berlin in 2002, were grouped under ten commitments, and the UNECE Regional Implementation Strategy (RIS), which included measures and actions, was approved.

At the beginning of the MIPAA, a systematic review and evaluation of its implementation at the regional and global level was agreed every five years. Afterwards, our National Country Report was prepared by our Ministry in 2016 within the scope of the 4th Cycle Review and Appraisal of the Madrid International Ageing Action Plan and Regional Implementation Strategy (MIPAA/RIS).

Within the scope of the 4th Cycle Review and Appraisal of the MIPAA/RIS application covering the years 2018-2022, the studies on our National Ageing Country Report will be held on August 24, 2021 with the participation of representatives of 45 stakeholder institutions and organizations from public institutions and organizations, academia, non-governmental organizations and local government units; the National Aging Country Report we held was initiated with the Stakeholder Meeting and the completion process of the Report was completed.

The National Ageing Country Report, prepared with the participation of our Ministry and stakeholder organizations, covers the developments and planned studies in the field of ageing in the five-year period covering the years 2018-2022.
