Our Minister Derya Yanık: “With our mobile SHM vehicles, our citizens' access to social services will become easier”


Our Minister of Family and Social Services, Derya Yanık, stated that they have put mobile Social Service Center (SHM) vehicles into service in order to operate in settlements where there are no social service centres during disasters and emergencies or in periods when there are no disasters and emergencies, and said, “With our mobile SHM vehicles, our citizens’ access will be much easier.”

Minister Yanık noted that the number of SHMs, which were put into practice in order to facilitate citizens' access to social service models for the issues they need, and to receive one-to-one support for the solution of the problems they encounter, has reached 377.

Yanik stating that in SHMs opened in districts with a certain size of population and in settlements where the need for service is intense, protective, preventive, supportive, improving services, guidance and counseling services are provided for all family members, including children, the elderly, the disabled, men and women, said: “We have put our mobile Social Service Centre vehicles into service by our Ministry in case of disasters and emergencies and when necessary, to operate in settlements where there is no social service center. We plan that mobile SHM vehicles will serve in settlements where our citizens have difficulty in accessing SHM services, in settlements where seasonal agricultural workers, asylum seekers-refugees live or where social problems are intense, even during periods when disasters and emergencies are not experienced.”

Minister Derya Yanık stating that they plan to increase the number of 3 mobile SHM vehicles in service with the Ministry to 13, said: “We will continue our efforts to expand the number of these centres and vehicles across the country, taking the needs into account.”

What activities will mobile SHM vehicles carry out?

Determining the social service needs of families and society by scanning areas and households with mobile SHM tools, receiving and finalizing the applications of the applicants, conducting individual, family and community-oriented social service studies, providing family-marriage counseling, pre-marital education and family education services, It will be ensured that activities such as training and social activities for women, persons with disabilities, the elderly, relatives of martyrs and veterans will be carried out.
