Online Training Programs for Health and Care Personnel in Disability and Elderly Care Organizations Are Organized
In cooperation with the Palliative Health Services Association (PASHİDER) and the Society of Palliative Care Nurses, online training programs are organized for health and care personnel in Disability and Elderly Care Organizations.
The first of the online training programs organized between 4-13 January 2021 for health and care personnel in Disability and Elderly Care Institutions in cooperation with the General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services and the Palliative Health Services Association (PASHİDER) and the Palliative Care Nurses Association started at 14:30 on Monday, January 4, 2021.
Dr. Orhan KOÇ pointed out that the pressure sores that constitute the first course subject of the online education program are a widespread and preventable important health problem that arises in addition to the main reason for hospitalization of patients and which continues to be up-to-date for the centers and individuals where patient care services are offered despite developments in the field of science and technology.
Secondary complications, i.e. pressure sores due to a disease, especially for immobile and impaired individuals with chronic diseases and in the most at-risk group; in addition to being difficult to care for and treat, it remains up-to-date with its longevity and high cost. Dr. Orhan KOÇ thanked the Palliative Health Services Association (PASHİDER) and the Palliative Care Nurses Association for organizing such online training programs.
The Online Training Program was completed with nurse Derya KARAKAYA's presentation on "Pressure Injuries". Karakaya gave information about pressure injuries (BY) and its symptoms and treatment, which are common from the past to the present. Within the scope of the 8-day training program, 1 30-minute course is held every day on "Pressure Injuries, Stoma Care, Psychological Counseling and Guidance Practices offered to the Disabled/Elderly, Effective Communication and Empathy with The Disabled/Elderly, Education of Those Offering Care to the Disabled and Elderly, Pain Management, Non-Pharmacological Approaches in Pain Management, Ways to Protect Disabled and Elderly Caregivers from COVID-19".
