Special Disability Care Centers consultation meeting was held online under the chairmanship of Dr. Orhan KOÇ, General Director of Disability and Elderly Services.
With the participation of Deputy General Director of Disability and Elderly Services Dr. Orhan KOÇ, Omer Faruk BILGIN, Head of Special Care Organizations Department, and responsible directors of special care centers, a consultation meeting was held online at 14.30 on 18.09.2020 regarding the measures taken during the New Koronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemia Process and the problems experienced in the process.
At the meeting, Dr. Orhan KOÇ, General Director of Disability and Elderly Services, reminded the directors of the institution about the implementation of the measures taken. He listened to the problems experienced in this process in special care centers. He reminded that his phones are open 24 hours a day, that he and the authorities should be informed instantly about the difficulties to be experienced, that our disabled brothers and sisters entrusted to us by following the measures taken in consultation with the Provincial Directorates should be cared for as an example to the world, and that maximum efforts should be made to keep covid cases to a minimum in institutions.
General Director of Disability and Elderly Services Dr. Orhan KOÇ said in his online meeting that covid-19 measures and examples in the world should be followed. He pointed out that at least 20% of the rooms available in the care centers have bathrooms and wc capacity, as well as the importance of having large gardens.
He stressed that the creation of isolation floors in each organization as a precaution is part of the Covid-19 measures. Private organizations should have accessibility certificates, organizations without accessibility certificates should apply to receive this document as soon as possible, otherwise incentive payments will definitely be desed, he said.
Accessibility Assessment Module (ERDEM) project must be installed, This project aims to raise awareness about accessibility, easily identify the arrangements for accessibility and encourage the obtain of an 'accessibility certificate', the module contains basic accessibility questions in the Accessibility Monitoring and Inspection Forms, the 10-part module has a total of 281 questions, these questions are answered as "Yes" or "No", the system constitutes an "Accessibility Report" after answering questions about all areas from the institution's garden to its office.
