Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş: "We have started to deposit a total of TL 2.8 billion of Home Care Allowance to the accounts”
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the Ministry started depositing a total of 2.8 billion TL Home Care Allowance this month in order to provide economic support to citizens and their families who were completely dependent in their homes.
Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş reminded that Home Care Allowance, one of the most important family-oriented care service models offered by the Ministry, was launched in 2006 with the idea that persons with disabilities would be supported primarily by their families. Göktaş said, "We prioritize the care of persons with disabilities at their homes in a way preserving the family integrity. With Home Care Allowance, the Ministry supports the protection and strengthening of family integrity encouriging older persons to live with family and relatives without leaving their environment where they reside."
Stating that the Home Care Allowance protected the family integrity by supporting citizens taking care of their relatives with full dependency in need of care, Göktaş said: "As the Ministry, we develop policies with a rights-based perspective for persons with disabilities to fully access their fundamental rights such as education, healthcare, security and employment. We are trying to reach every member of the society with the holistic and fair social service models developed."
Stating that 5.097 TL per beneficiary was paid monthly within the scope of Home Care Allowance, Minister Göktaş said: "This month, the Ministry has started to deposit a total of 2.8 billion TL Home Care Allowance to the accounts of citizens with full dependency being taken care of at their homes and their families. This month, 560.000 citizens are benefiting from Home Care Allowance. Within the framework of the vision of the Century of Türkiye, as the Ministry, we will continue making efforts to ensure that rights-based social assistance in disability is sustainable with a transparent approach. I wish the payments to be beneficial to all persons with disabilities and their families."
