Minister of Family and Social Services Derya YANIK said: “We continue to be with our citizens with our 372 Social Service Centres (SHM). Within this context we provided service to more than 3,6 million of our citizens this year.”
Minister Derya YANIK stating that SHMs are the pioneers for citizens to reach services provided said: “We provide support for our women, youth, children, persons with disabilities, elders, martyr's relatives, and veterans along with social service interferences, pursuing, and transferring regarding persons in need at the SHMs in 81 provinces.”
Minister Derya YANIK stated that counselling and guidance services such as protective and preventive supports for families and society are provided at the SHMs at which citizens are able to reach social service models easily.

Several services are provided together
Minister Derya YANIK stating that at the SHMs several services are provided together said: “We ensure our citizens to receive services we provide easily and fast. We continue to be with our citizens with our 372 Social Service Centres (SHM). This year we provided service for more than 3,6 million of our citizens. We aim to provide service for every district of our country. For us SHMs are like a bridge between our citizens and our Ministry. We put 18 SHMs into service this year. By the end of the year we aim to put 6 SHMs into service.
Citizens are provided one-to-one support
Minister Derya YANIK saying “We provide service for our citizens with our 372 Social Service Centres” stated that citizens are able to apply to SHMs in Turkey in order to access social service models in the fields they need and citizens are provided one-to-one support.
Families are educated in 5 different fields
Minister Derya YANIK sharing the details of services provided at the SHMs said: “We provide service within the framework of Family Social Support Programme (ASDEP), Family Education Programme (AEP), and Family Counselling Service. With ASDEP needs of families and individuals for social support and social services are detected and the suitable service models of our Ministry are implemented as a result of researches. Also counselling and guidance services are provided for families. Education consisting of 28 modules in total in 5 fields; education, law, economy, media, and health, is provided for families within the context of AEP actualized in order to create healthy and happy families. During this education it is ensured for families to utilize the sources they have effectively, and to take precautions against possible risks. “
Women, children, and persons with disabilities are provided with counselling and guidance service
Minister Derya YANIK stating that at the Social Service Centres services for children, youth, women, persons with disabilities and the elders are provided said: “Children are provided with services at various subjects such as placing children who need protection at the care institutions, providing social economic support, foster-parents service, and education and counselling service as precaution. For our women incidents are researched at the places where Avoiding and Monitoring Violence (ŞÖNİM) does not take place and relevant actions are taken. Also education and counselling activities are provided in order to develop social and economic status of women.
Minister Derya YANIK stating that at SHMs support is provided to ensure persons with disabilities and the elders to participate actively in social life said: “At SHMs applications for home care support for persons with disabilities are analysed and resulted. In addition activities for making persons benefit from disability and elderly care services are carried out.”
Projects are carried out in different provinces
Social Service Centres continue to provide services with protective and preventive projects. In this direction social and economic status of persons, primarily disadvantageous groups, in Amasya Merzifon is detected with Social Development Support Programme and their needs are met.
With the project carried out by Social Service Centre in Hatay, Antakya children that are worked, begged and live in the streets are detected. The ones, who do not go to school, are sent to school.
