Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş: "We started to deposit a total of 2.440.000.000 TL of Home Care Allowance into the accounts"
Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the Ministry started to deposit a total of 2.440.000.000 TL of Home Care Allowance this month in order to provide economic support to citizens with severe disabilities and their families in need.
Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş reminded that with the Home Care Allowance, which was initiated in 2006 with the idea that "persons with disabilities should be supported primarily by their families, citizens who have a relative with severe disabilities in need of care and who are unable to work due to their care should be supported".
Stating that within the scope of Home Care Allowance, a monthly cash aid of 4.336 TL was provided to families who wanted to take care of their relatives with severe disabilities at home for the period January-July 2023, Minister Göktaş added: "This month, we started to deposit a total of 2.440.000.000 TL Home Care Allowance to the accounts of persons with severe disabilities and their families in need. This month, 567.000 citizens are benefiting from Home Care Allowance. Emphasizing that we will continue to develop policies with a rights-based perspective for persons with disabilities to fully access their basic rights such as education, health care, security and employment, I wish that the payments will be beneficial to all our citizens with disabilities."
On the other hand, Home Care Allowance payments is to be deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries with an increase in August following the new regulation in the public personnel salary coefficient in July.
