Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş: ""We meet the essential needs of older persons and persons with disabilities with the national project "Ulusal Vefa Projesi"


Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the fundamental and essential needs of older persons and persons with disabilities were being met through Ulusal Vefa Projesi.

Minister Göktaş stated that with Ulusal Vefa Projesi, the Ministry did not leave older persons, persons with disabilities and citizens with severe chronic diseases in need, unable to meet their fundamental needs and unable to fulfill their own self-care, alone.

Stating that the Ministry aimed to meet the essential and fundamental needs of more than 127.000 older persons and persons with disabilities at home with more than 7.000 personnel this year, Minister Göktaş added: " The teams visit the households of the citizens on a regular basis and provide them with domestic and personal hygiene. In this direction, we periodically transfer resources to Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations for the Vefa Projesi, which was transformed into a national program and implemented throughout the country."

"We act with the understanding of society that does not leave anyone behind"

Stating that the priority order within the scope of Vefa Projesi was for citizens in need, Minister Yanık explained the details as follows:

"We act with the approach of a society that leaves no one behind with the vision of the Century of Türkiye. Therefore, we meet the essential needs of older persons and persons with disabilities with the national project titled "Ulusal Vefa Projesi" We meet the needs of households where persons over the age of 60 who cannot meet their essential and fundamental needs for domestic and personal care where persons with disabilities report of 40% or more live."

Stating that the social service activities were carried out in a way to meet the needs of each citizen, Minister Göktaş said: "We are ready to offer all kinds of support to persons with disabilities and older citizens. We will continue social service models for them in a more meticulous, more compassionate and more caring manner."
