Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said, "We have taken some initiatives under the auspices of First Lady Mrs. Emine Erdoğan to take injured children and children in institutions in Palestine and treat them in Türkiye. As Türkiye, we stand by Palestine in this difficult process and we will continue to be by their side. We are trying to deliver humanitarian aid.”

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş made a series of visits in the province of Tekirdağ.

Minister Göktaş first visited Tekirdağ Governorship and signed the Book of Honor of the Governorship.

Following her visit to the governorship, Minister Göktaş visited Süleymanpaşa Municipality. Afterwards, she met with members of the institution at AK Parti Provincial Presidency of Tekirdağ.

In her speech there, Minister Göktaş stated that she was not a stranger to the city as she had become a "Tekirdağ bride".

Minister Göktaş stated that Ministry was closely following the developments in Gaza.

Emphasizing that Türkiye stood by the Palestinian people, Minister Göktaş continued her speech as follows: "Palestine, Gaza is being bombed and we, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, are both supporting Palestine and taking various initiatives to share their pain. As you know, 3 days of mourning have been declared. We have had a number of initiatives under the auspices of the First Lady Mrs. Emine Erdogan to take in injured children and treat them in institutions in Türkiye. As Türkiye, we stand by Palestine in this difficult time and we will continue to be by their side. We are trying to deliver humanitarian aid.”

“Look at where we were 21 years ago, look at where we are today”

Emphasizing that the AK Parti government provided important services for the country, Minister Göktaş said that Türkiye had reached a point in the last 21 years where it could not reach with its predecessors.

"Look at where we were 21 years ago, look at where we are today with women, young persons, older persons, children, relatives of martyrs and veterans” said Minister Göktaş and added: "21 years ago, people used to hide persons with disabilities at home. Now, as Day Care Centers increase in various activities for their socialization or as the number of our institutions increases, the mothers continue to be comfortable and relieved about their struggles."

“We have reached more than 59.000 households”

Touching on the activities of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Tekirdağ in her speech, Minister Göktaş stated that their services to Tekirdağ would continue and said, "We have 6 Social Service Centers in Tekirdağ. With 46 professional staff, we have reached more than 59.000 households since 2017 within the scope of ASDEP. We also have 135 children in 2 Children's Home Sites. We also serve 21 children at the Specialized Children's Homes Complex."

“We have transferred 28 million lira of resources”

Explaining that the Ministry allocated a total of 28 million liras since 2012 for children in foster care in Tekirdağ, Minister Göktaş said, "We serve 181 older persons in 3 Nursing Homes and Care and Rehabilitation Centers for Older Persons affiliated to the Ministry. You are the closest witnesses of these services. We do not have enough time to count them all out. We have achieved these services together. We did it for these people. We did it for Tekirdağ. Hopefully, we will do so much more.”

Minister Göktaş then visited the sales points of women's cooperatives at Rumeli Pier. Göktaş, chatting with the manufacturer women, examined the products.

Minister Göktaş also met with the staff of the Provincial Directorate of Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Family and Social Services within the scope of Tekirdağ program. She then visited Zübeyde Hanım Children's Homes Complex and met with children under care and protection.
