Minister Göktaş: "We started depositing a total of 2.448.000 TL Home Care Allowance into accounts"

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that the Ministry started to deposit a total of 2.448.000 TL Home Care Allowance this month in order to provide economic support to citizens with severe disabilities and their families in need of care.

Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş reminded that Home Care Allowance, one of the most important community-based care service models offered by the Ministry, was launched in 2006 with the idea of supporting persons with disabilities primarily with their families. Stating that the Home Care Allowance supported citizens who had a relative with severe disabilities in need of care and who could not work due to the care undertaken, Göktaş added: "As the Ministry, we develop policies with a rights-based perspective for persons with disabilities to fully access their fundamental rights such as education, healthcare, security, and employment."

Minister Göktaş stated that within the scope of Home Care Allowance, a monthly cash allowance of 4.336 TL was provided to families who wanted to take care of their relatives with severe disabilities at home for the period January-July 2023, and said:
"This month, we have started to deposit a total of 2.448.000 TL Home Care Allowance to the accounts of persons with severe disabilities and their families in need of care. This month, 570.000 citizens are benefiting from Home Care Allowance. As the Ministry, we consider it very important that rights-based social assistance is sustainable with a transparent understanding of the vision of The Century of Türkiye in disability. Therefore, I emphasize that with the vision of a society that leaves no one behind, we will ensure the active and independent participation of persons with disabilities in all areas of social life in their own social environment without discrimination, and I wish that the payments would be beneficial to all persons with disabilities.
