Meeting titled "Accessibility: Built Environment" was held within the scope of National Action Plan Preparation Workshops for The Rights of The Disabled
The sixth preparatory workshop, which was carried out within the scope of the cooperation of the relevant parties, was held on June 24th with fifty participants, including civil society representatives related to public institutions and institutions, which demonstrated the state's total approach to ensuring that disabled people can benefit from all rights together with other individuals.
Mrs. Sebiha BASARAN, Deputy General Manager of Disability and Elderly Services, opened the meeting organized online. In his opening speech, Basaran reminded that, both the public and local governments, the administration should ensure that all citizens benefit fully and thoroughly from public services. Emphasizing that ensuring accessibility is an important step in providing public services more effectively and in place, Başaran said the meeting aims to provide this step.
Tayyar KUZ, head of the Research And Development Department, said in a statement that the National Action Plan for The Rights of the Disabled was prepared in light of the Convention on the Rights of the Disabled, a contract adopted on the basis of human rights and the prevention of discrimination. KUZ underlined that the Action Plan was created to be a guide for each individual sector and to ensure integrity in services offered by each public institution in general.
Dr. Deniz CAGLAYAN GÜMÜŞ, head of the Accessibility Department, said later, 'Accessibility is for all'; Within the scope of the meeting, he conveyed information about the vision document and action plan carried out by our General Directorate on accessibility, which has a very important place in the field of disability.
