Adoption Service pertains to children who have no opportunity to live with their own family. In this context, the children, who are eligible to be adopted, among the ones in need of protection, are placed within families, whose requests for adoption are examined and evaluated as appropriate in the focus of children’s best interest.
Our Ministry is the only official authority responsible for adoption service paying regard to children’s best interest and also serves as Central Authority within the scope of Hague Convention related to intercountry adoption.
In 2018, the “Adoption Directive” was repealed. With the abolition of this directive, the condition of having a maximum of forty years between the adopter and the adopted one was removed.
