Department of Support Services within Family




The duties of the Department of Support Services within Family are as follows:

  1. Providing social and economic support services for persons and families in social and economic deprivation in order to provide education and care to their children, developing and implement service standards and programs.

 

  1. Determining the principles of social and economic support services for the care of children within their families in accordance with child services policy and objectives, preparing work plans and programs, ensuring their implementation.

 

  1. Increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of social and economic support services and cooperating and coordinating with relevant public institutions and organizations, local administrations and voluntary organizations in terms of efficient use of resources related to the service.

 

  1. Making planning for the distribution of the allowance to be used in child-oriented social and economic support services to provinces and ensuring that it is conveyed to the relevant units.

 

  1. Determining policies for the implementation, development and dissemination of adoption and foster care services, preparing and implementing plans and programs accordingly.

 

  1. Taking the necessary measures for the implementation of adoption and foster care services and the elimination of the negative preventive conditions and working to develop the relevant legislation.

 

  1. Carrying out activities to raise awareness of the society on adoption.

 

  1. Working on promoting and extending foster care services and increasing the quality of services.

 

  1. Taking initiatives to provide necessary training to professionals working in this field in order to raise the standard in service in adoption and foster care services, in this way, making efforts to generalize family trainings and ensure standardization.

 

  1. Making arrangements for establishing healthy communication between the child and the family before the child placement process with the adoptive families and foster families and preparing of professional studies and interview plans with the natural families of the children who are within the foster family.

 

  1. Cooperating with the relevant institutions and organizations in order to solve the problems that arise in the field of adoption and foster care services.

 

  1. Adopting children in need of protection abroad in our country and carrying out all adoption procedures abroad and domestically in accordance with the approved international treaties, contracts and existing legislation.

 

  1. Ensuring the timely payment of foster family fees for children who are cared for by foster families and making the necessary arrangements to improve wages in line with the current conditions, evaluating the requests from provincial directorates within the framework of the relevant legislation.

 

  1. Receiving feedback on adoption and foster family practices, making arrangements accordingly, collecting statistical data for the service, and ensuring that the information and documents required for the service are recorded, protected and used in accordance with the confidentiality principle determined by the legislation.
